Image Resizer Help Center

Welcome to the Image Resizer Tool's Help Center. Here you will find detailed guides and FAQs on how to use this tool.

How-to Guide

Follow these three simple steps to quickly resize your images. The entire process is done in your browser, ensuring speed and privacy.

1

Upload Images

Click the "Select Files" button or drag and drop your image files (supports JPG, PNG, WebP) into the dashed area. You can select and upload multiple images for batch processing.

2

Configure Options

Choose a resize mode: "By Pixels", "By Percentage", or "By File Size". Enter your desired dimensions, scale, or target file size. It is recommended to keep "Keep Aspect Ratio" checked to avoid distortion.

3

After setting the options, click the "Start Resizing" button. Once processed, you can download the resized images individually or click "Download All Images" to get them all at once.

Feature Details

Resize Modes

We offer three flexible ways to resize your images:

  • By Pixels: Directly specify the exact width and height of the output image in pixels. Ideal for situations requiring fixed-size images, like website banners or social media avatars.
  • By Percentage: Scale the image based on a percentage of its original size. For example, entering 50 will reduce both the width and height of the image by half. Suitable for proportional scaling.
  • By File Size: Aims to get your image close to a specific file size (in KB). The tool first resizes the image to fit within the maximum width/height you specify, then adjusts the compression quality to meet the target file size. This works best for JPG and WebP formats.

Keep Aspect Ratio

This is a very important option, enabled by default.

  • When checked: In "By Pixels" mode, when you enter a width or height, the other dimension is automatically calculated based on the original aspect ratio. This ensures the image is not stretched or squashed, preserving its original look.
  • When unchecked: You can freely set any width and height combination, but this may lead to image distortion. Only uncheck this if you are sure you need non-proportional stretching.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is this tool free to use?

Yes, this tool is completely free. You can use all its features without any limits, registration, or payment required.

Is my image data secure?

Yes. All image processing is done in your local browser using JavaScript. Your image files are never uploaded to any server. We cannot access or store any of your image data.

What image formats are supported?

We currently support the three most common web image formats: JPG (JPEG), PNG, and WebP. The resized image will retain its original format.

Why isn't the final file size exactly what I set in "By File Size" mode?

The "By File Size" feature uses an algorithm to find a compression quality that brings the file size as close as possible to your target. Due to the nature of compression, hitting an exact byte count is very difficult, so the final result is a close approximation. This feature is most effective for lossy formats like JPG and WebP. For lossless formats like PNG, the ability to reduce file size by adjusting quality is very limited.

How many images can I process at once?

The tool supports batch processing, but the number and size of images you can process depend on your computer's performance and browser memory limits. For most modern computers, processing several dozen regular-sized images at once is usually not a problem.

Why is my resized image distorted?

Image distortion usually occurs because the "Keep Aspect Ratio" option was unchecked during resizing. Please ensure this option is selected so that when you modify the width or height, the tool automatically calculates the other dimension to maintain the original proportions.
